“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

2 Corinthians 5:17

Welcome to Butterflies, Blossoms and Blessings! My name is Julie. The reason I chose this name for my blog is based on the verse above. To me, a butterfly is a fitting illustration of the Christian life. When the caterpillar is born he crawls on the ground. All he can see is dirt and grass. He can crawl up the stems of flowers to eat the leaves but he doesn’t go very far. His world is limited. He doesn’t mind the dirt. He is content just as he is. The caterpillar goes through a changing process. When he emerges as a butterfly he can fly above the bushes he used to crawl on. Similarly, when a person is born he “crawls” around in the dirt of sin, weighed down by the cares of this life and is content. When he meets Christ and chooses to accept Him as his Savior, he changes into a new creature. His old life has died, never to return. Now he is free to soar above the problems of this world without limits. A flower doesn’t start out as a blossom. It starts out as a seed and grows as it takes in water and sunlight. Over time it blooms and becomes a beautiful flower. A Christian doesn’t start out in full bloom either. He reads the Bible, listens to teaching and preaching and allows them to “water” his soul. The light and warmth of the Son causes him to grow and bloom into a person of beauty that brings pleasure to those around him. As a result, blessings come into his life and he becomes a blessing to others. In this blog, I am going to give a voice to my thoughts on many subjects. I will try to put a positive “spin” on them. I realize you may not agree with some of my views and that is okay. God gave each of us a mind, conscience and emotions which help us form our own opinions. I pray that these words will bloom blessings on all who read them. Have a great day!!
