Summer Is In The Air
Summer is in the air,
Traveling by the sun
Whose warmth fills
And caresses deep
Within each spirit.
If you don’t believe in change
You’ve never seen a caterpillar
Who crawls on the ground
Turn into a beautiful butterfly
Who’s no longer earthly bound.
The butterfly is free
To roam the wild,
Unexplored meadows
Green with growth
Caressed by gentle winds.
His metamorphosis is complete.
Warm breezes propel
Him higher and higher.
New freedom he finds
As he spreads his wings.
He lingers a while on a bush
Laden with flowers.
His multi-colored wings are exquisite,
Spread wide -
Eager to take off again.
As I gaze upon the butterfly,
Gentle winds blow softly
Through my hair;
Gracefully taking each strand
To fall tenderly against my cheek.
Now that summer is here,
Change is the guiding force.
Our soul yearns to soar
Up high with the butterflies
To embrace the blue horizon.
